What’s the background on this? Have there been a lot of problems with dogs in the city? As a new Westforker, I’m ignorant about this issue.
WEST FORK, Ark. — After much controversy, pit bulls will not be banned in West Fork, Arkansas.
According to Mayor Frances Hime, the original ordinance will no longer include the proposed pit bull ban after the city council voted in support of the change.
The council met again Tuesday night to discuss the remainder of the ordinance.
Hime said they will consider changes to animal services and harsher punishments for irresponsible owners.

To Mayor Frances Hime,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. What an amazing decision! Thank you for being one individual that was not afraid to go against the grain and not judge dogs solely on their appearance. It is time to make bad dog owners responsible for their actions. You are correct that dogs are not human however it has always been my belief that dogs, much like children, are a product of their environment. If you raise them to show respect and be a productive member of society, then you, and they, shall reap all the rewards of such a life. Kudos to you and may you have a long and healty term.
Sincerely,
