I’m a weather geek, and I’m proud of it. When rain threatens, I gaze at the live radar on my iPhone. When winter roars, I’m glued to the TV. Part of my fascination is by necessity. I enjoy riding motorcycles and bicycles, neither of which come with convertible tops. More than once, my phone’s amazing weather apps have gotten me home, if not dry, at least not drenched. Timing is everything. Here is a list of some of the best free weather sites I have found:

• USWX - Easy to use, clear graphs, lots of data. Check out the event planner, too.
• Weatherspark - “Beautiful weather graphs.” Entertaining, but complex.
• Wunderground - A nice balance between gadgets and hard data.
